This event will look at both the legal and social implications of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013. Speakers will explore the legal implications for the new legislation both for same sex couples in the North East and for those same sex couples who wish to relocate to Europe. Further speakers will then explore the social implications and lived identities of same sex couples.
Speakers include: Cris McCurley of Ben Hoare Bell Solicitors, Frances Hamilton of Northumbria University, Brian Heaphy of the University of Manchester and Catherine Donovan of the University of Sunderland.
