Book Launch: Collapsing the 404th Divide

We are opening the Extra Dimensional portal one last time. Join us for the unveiling of a recently discovered, mysterious notebook from beyond the 404th Wall. By opening its pages the reader is invited to become an Extra Dimensional Explorer, tasked with continuing the investigation beyond the 404th Wall and deciphering signs from across an unknowable divide. The notebook is unfinished, but we invite you to help us celebrate its discovery, and help us decode its meanings.

This publication is the final piece of the 404th Wall/DIYwania project that was hosted at NewBridge Project, 30th October – 8th November, 2014 in conjunction with ISEA 2014. This international project took place between Newcastle and Dubai and examined the failures and successes of technology in communicating and translating experiences of place. http://www.404th.com

The launch will feature a newly commissioned interactive digital work by artist Lucy Pawlak, who asks you to imagine “a place that you are not in, furnished with objects that you do not own, with someone who is not there.” http://www.lucypawlak.com

Come enjoy refreshments in a replica of the DIYwania tent.
