Join American sound artist Halsey Burgund as he discusses Tributaries, a new artwork developed with Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
Tributaries is an innovative digital piece inspired by life on Tyneside during the First World War. It’s an immersive soundscape of music and spoken word, accessible via a free mobile app (available from Monday 10 August).
Halsey will talk about the development of Tributaries, including a live demo and Q&A. He will also talk about his wider practice in sound art.
Halsey Burgund is based in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). He describes his work as a “combination of socio-anthropological ‘research’, musical documentary and participatory experience”. Halsey has produced of number of digital artworks across USA and internationally, and is currently a research fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology: MIT. He was formerly an artist research fellow at the Smithsonian (USA).
