We are delighted to invite you to attend Newcastle University’s European Research Council (ERC) grants showcase event “Celebrating 10 Years of ERC”. The event is hosted by the Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Chris Day, and will involve case studies from ERC grant holders and a panel discussion with grant holders and ERC panel members. This is part of the ERC’s 10th anniversary week and will be one of many such events taking place across Europe celebrating the success of ERC funding. We hope you will join us in marking the ERC’s 10th anniversary and be inspired to apply for an ERC grant yourself!
ERC is one of the most prestigious European funding schemes, providing grant funding to excellent PIs to conduct outstanding, ground-breaking, high-gain/high-risk research. ERC is open to all fields of research. The ERC showcase event will provide an insight into what makes a successful ERC research project (including building up the initial idea) and what winning an ERC grant has meant to our PIs. The ERC showcase case studies span Starting, Consolidator and Advanced grants across all three ERC panels: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities.
