This short workshop will focus on addressing some key questions about the contemporary nature of anti-Muslim hatred. Key questions addressed include: what is anti-Muslim hatred / Islamophobia? Where do these incidents happen? Who are the perpetrators and victims of anti-Muslim hatred? What are the consequences of this? Contributors to this workshop are: Dr Kawtar Najib, Dr Robin Finlay and Professor Peter Hopkins (all from Geography at Newcastle). This workshop will also include the launch of TellMAMA’s annual report ‘A constructed threat: identity, intolerance and the impact of anti-Muslim hatred’ where Iman Abou Atta will present the main findings.
